Keynote: Google Research Applying Deep Learning to Medical Imaging and Genomics

Ryan Poplin is the technical lead of the Google Brain Genomics team, applying deep learning technology to a variety of problems in computational genomics. Before joining Google he was a group leader at the Broad Institute and the lead developer of the Genome Analysis ToolKit (GATK), a popular software package for processing next-generation DNA sequencing data. Ryan has a BS degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a MS degree in Neural Computation from Carnegie Mellon University.
