Topic: Robotic Milking
Ben was born in raised on a dairy farm in The Netherlands and loved the farm and the cows, but did not like the 24/7/365 milking job. So he decided to dedicate his life to make the milking job easier for others. He worked in different positions in the European milking equipment and herd information management business for 26 years until he moved in 2008 to Madison WI with the aim to bring and translate European experiences regarding herd management information systems, sensor technology and robotic milking to North America. He likes to build bridges and bring people from different disciplines and cultures together in successful working groups to improve the practical knowledge and experiences of dairy producers with robotic milking data platforms.
Ben is heading the network of 350+ Lely certified FMS experts in North America to train Lely Center Dealers and other stake holders to become independent consultants able to assure the improvement of the financial and social well-being of Lely robot customers by providing farm, herd and robot management guidelines. Bases for this support are the field intelligence and big data solutions collected from 30.000 milking robots connected to the internet worldwide.
